The beginning of a "Nigga Moment"
So a while back, the Boondocks aired a great episode and explained what a "Nigga Moment" is. Peep the clip:
So a couple of ignorant niggas beat up another ignorant nigga (Young Berg) and snatched his chain. So here is the response from some even more ignorant niggas (peep the gratuitous myspace plug). It's just amazing to me why anyone would be on camera talking about how gangsta they are and brandish guns. I would suspect that if anyone of these people were real gangstas they would have never been on video screaming about it.
Can we please avoid a nigga moment?

Free Integrated Media

Free Integrated Media (FIM) is a Media and Branding Company with equity in 4 Major Label Recording Artists, 3 Independent Distributed Labels, and 1 Major Label Joint Venture. In addition, FIM is in the final acquisition stages of owning 25 Media Placement Houses (a place where media lives and holds a captive audience of over 2.5 million consumers).
The myspace/youtube/digital era has created a gap between consumer and fan. We all know that fans are not always consumers (i.e. "I have 2 million hits on myspace but only sold 1500 records"). FIM will bridge the gap between Fan and Consumer and monetize the fanbase of any person, product, or Brand. The seamless integration of fan-base and consumer-base will reinvigorate the music marketplace.
With music driving ads, and ads driving music commerce...what else was I supposed to do? It's my own little 360 degree deal. But this is just a preview. The full launch comes in January '09. Stay tuned for updates.

Niggers that inspire
So if you ever wondered what was on Michael Phelps's ipod as he prepared to wiggle in the water...I got the exclusive. In an exclusive interview with the Associated Press, Phelps says that he plays 9 songs leading up to every event and here is his list:
The Michael Phelps' Playlist
1. "Overnight Celebrity" - Twista
2. "Burn" - Usher
3. "Roses" - Outkast
4. "Till I Collapse" - Eminem
5. "Smile" - G Unit
6. "A Milli" - Lil' Wayne
7. "Hustlin" - Rick Ross
8. "Hello Brooklyn 2.0" - Jay-Z (featuring Lil Wayne)
9. "I Got What It Takes" - Young Jeezy
(Editors Note: Maybe all these niggas racing to escape from reality through their music helps to inspire Phelps to chase his dreams. For example:
1. "Overnight Celebrity" - Twista (Twista isn't even famous anymore)
2. "Burn" - Usher (Usher isn't even hot anymore)
3. "Roses" - Outkast (it ain't all roses, Andre and Big Boi aren't even on the same planet)
4. "Till I Collapse" - Eminem (Eminem stopped rappin 3 years ago)
5. "Smile" - G Unit (Gangsta Niggas don't smile, they just grin and get rich or die tryin')
6. "A Milli" - Lil' Wayne (Lil Wayne is on a payment plan for a 80G watch, a foreclosed house, and a milli dollar tax debt)
7. "Hustlin" - Rick Ross (seriously...do I even have to say it...ok so he's hustlin keys but signs a record deal with rival drug dealer and independent record company owner...or is he just a correction officer tellin the stories of his former inmates)
8. "Hello Brooklyn 2.0" - Jay-Z (featuring Lil Wayne) (Jay-Z doesn't come to Brooklyn and Lil' Wayne is from the suburbs of New Orleans)
9. "I Got What It Takes" - Young Jeezy (Absolutely no one believe Jeezy can sell keys for 17,500 and still turn a profit...or maybe he's just doing it to keep his street cred?)

Solange is winning me over...again
Here's another Solange clip. Now I've never been a Solange fan before but she is winning me over with her ingenuity and creativity. I still don't think she's sexy but I'm loving her far more than the Keri's, Teyana's, etc. She's not as talented, creative, or unique as Wynter Gordon but she certainly is beasting the hell out of the rest of the bunch.

Cassie

So I saw Cassie on the elevator the other day and I must admit...she's an amazingly pretty girl. I guess I previously hated on her because she's not a good singer but her face really has alot of value.
Anywho...check out this clip of her addressing the Diddy rumors.

Is it just me, or did she all but admit that she's involved in a relationship with Puff?
lol @ (that was just awkward)

This is why I mess with Solange!
Peep the random fan that jumps on stage halfway through this clip. Security tries to take him away and she yells, "he ain't hurtin' nobody!"
Damn, what happened to "real" artists really connecting with their fans? Solange, you have just earned my vote and my $17 for your cd.

Chris Milk is Genius
So I am still singing Chris Milk's praises. I can't state how much I loved this video. It completely personified creativity, uniqueness and ingenuity. Screw all the artists trying to be weird without being CREATIVE (i.e. Santo Gold, etc.).
What's wrong with this picture?
This picture was taken with my iphone last night so I apologize for the poor quality (iphone's don't have flash). Please take a close look at it. If you look closely, you'll notice that this is a homeless woman sleeping on the street. However, if you look closer you'll see that she is sleeping next to her laptop.
Story
So last night at approximately 3am I left from Legacy Studios in Midtown and headed down to Germano Studios in the Village. As I pulled into a parking space I notice the above woman sitting on the floor and working on a laptop. It was a bit odd for me because even though New York never sleeps, 3am seemed really late to be on a laptop in the street. I assumed that she just wanted some fresh air and possibly lived in the neighborhood. But I was wrong.
At 4:15am I left the studio and headed to my car I saw that same woman sleeping...with her laptop tucked under head. Thats when it dawned on me that she was homeless. Then the questions in my head started:
1. Where does she charge her computer?
2. Who's wireless internet is she pirating?
3. What exactly is she doing on a computer anyway?
I guess that since I've understood the concept of being homeless, I've always closely aligned homelessness with mental illness. And then an even more disturbing question arose in my head:
4. Is this the new face of homelessness?
It's scary but:
5. Will otherwise functioning members of society be forced into homelessness as an option simply because of the disappearing middle class economy?
6. Is she eligible for Section 8 housing, Mitchell Lama, or any other subsidized housing program?
7. Is it ethical for me to take a picture of this person without their knowledge or permission?
The last question scared me the most.
8. What can I do about it?
Louis doesn't love you back

AS REPORTED IN THE DAILY NEWS
Attention, blinged-out, brand-obsessed pop stars: Read the law before going gaudy.
Louis Vuitton won an undisclosed out-of-court settlement Thursday after a five-year Paris court battle against three of MTV's familiar faces - Britney Spears, Da Brat and "American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard.
The company sued Sony BMG Music Entertainment for allowing its artists to use the famous LV monogram in music videos and album covers.
"We believe the terms of this agreement will provide strong protection to our brand worldwide," Louis Vuitton's Nathalie Moulle-Berteaux said in a statement.
Sony BMG also agreed "to educate its record labels" about copyright laws, she said.
A spokesman for Sony BMG, which represents Arista, Columbia and Epic records, declined to comment.
Now Spears can no longer ride in a pink Hummer, laced with a cherry LV monogram dashboard, as she did in her 2006 video "Do Somethin'."
"We don't make dashboards," a Vuitton spokeswoman quipped.
And artists can't keep up the trend popularized by Studdard - who in 2006, printed his album jacket for "The Return" CD on Louis Vuitton monogram paper.
The fight for the settlement, estimated at more than $300,000, began after Vuitton sued Sony in 2003 for allowing Da Brat to bounce around in a video with a multicolored LV print beachball.
not interested...
So I guess I'm not interested in...
1. Going to an RnB Showcase and hearing marginally talented singers have jam sessions that only sound good (or even comprehensible) to 3 people.
2. Going to a hiphop showcase and watch modern day minstrels scream incomprehensibly into a mic, shout out their government owned neighborhood, and blame the sound man for sucking.
3. Watching Janelle Monae try to be different, explain why she's different, and prove that she's different while wearing the same damn outfit all the time (it all becomes a bit contrived no matter how talented she is).
4. Posting pictures so that more ignorant niggers (double whammy) can read my blog.
5. much music these days....not much is inspiring.
6. listening to Usher talk about his average wife or his average life while trying to figure out why he has "average" record sales (Go figure).
7. watching Ne-Yo try to prove that he isn't gay by overcompensating on the "gentleman" bs.
8. watching Santogold completely bludgeon my ears with talentless, mindless Bull$%#*.
9. Listening to any of the bs hipster crap coming out of Atlanta.
